League

Pee Wee Reese League is a competitive “Player Pitch” league focused on intermediate baseball “team” fundamentals.  Pee Wee Reese League is for boys and girls ages 11 & 12.

Location

All games/practices will be held on our surrounding St. Michael/Albertville Baseball Fields.

Teams

All players at this level are required to try-out even if they do not plan to play travel baseball.  This allows the league to evenly distribute the talent based on their individual try-out score. Teams are formed using the try-out score OR picked at random by In House Vice President if no score is available.  Teams will be made up of 10 to 13 players per team.  There is no buddy request at this level.

If we have 6 or more teams, the league will be operated out of STMA. 5 teams or less the league will operate through the Quad Cities league. The change to the Quad Cities will allow each team to play a full summer schedule (up to 10 games and a season end tournament) against teams from Monticello, Big Lake, Clear Lake, and Saint Michael.

Equipment

STMA Youth baseball will provide a Hat, Jersey, Pants, and Bats.  Players are to provide their own Helmet, Glove and Cleats.

Practice/Game Nights

Pee Wee Reese will meet Monday/Wednesday/Sunday at 6:15 pm.  Coaches are to hold a minimum of 1 hour for practice, but can extend practice time at their discretion.  League games are 6 innings, or 2 hour time limit.  Parents are strongly encouraged to stay at the field during Baseball activities.

Season Length

Pee Wee Reese League is an 8 week, 24 day scheduled league.  Weather permitting:  League will tentatively start the first week in May and end Mid July.  5/24 – 5/29 & 06/29 – 07/08 are off days.

Jamboree

All teams will participate in the year end Jamboree.  The Jamboree format will allow a 2 game guarantee for each team.  Each team will be seeded based on their league record.  Jamboree is set for 07/23 thru 07/26.

Coaches

We ALWAYS need coaches!!  Please contact your league coordinator if you are interested in coaching, or would like more information.

Weather/Rain outs

In the event of rain, the league or coach will send out a cancellation notice VIA Sports Engine Chat.  All games WILL be made up at a later date.  Make up games may fall on an “off” day if needed based on field availability.  If a practice is rained out, it is up to the coaches to reschedule or cancel.
