Travel Parents for 2024,

 

The 2024 Baseball season will be upon us soon and we wanted to reach out to kick off the season with information on key dates, changes, and reminders. Please review the information carefully, we have summarized the key dates at the bottom. If you have any questions you can reach out to us at stmabaseball@outlook.com. We look forward to beginning our winter training and getting out on the diamond as early as possible in the spring! We also want to wish our athletes good luck in the winter activities and encourage their focus on school and that winter activity. Baseball training should be a secondary focus until the season officially begins.

 

 

Dome Availability

As a travel player your Dome pass has been built into your travel fees. The Dome begins in January and is available for all travel players during the hours the association has reserved/rented. This is open time and not intended for formal practice. We require parents or an adult to attend the Dome with your player. Players will not be allowed in the Dome alone without supervision. You can find out more about the Dome here.

 

 

New Travel Player Parent Meeting

We will be hosting a New Travel Player Meeting on January 10th for players who are new to the travel program. This meeting will provide parents and players information on what to expect as a travel player throughout the season. We will cover key requirements, expectations, costs, key dates, equipment, and an overall idea of how a travel season runs. 

 

 

Volunteer Hours

The association will require 4 volunteer hours per player in 2024. Volunteer hours can be found in Dibs here. You will have the opportunity to sign up for Dome shifts, uniform try on dates, and our summer wood bat classic. We expect to have these hours posted in early January and additional hours are not expected to be added as the season progresses, so sign up as soon as possible. Please note, winter Dome hours overlap, if you sign up for two shifts in the same night it will only count as 3 hours!

 

 

Uniform Try On Dates

Just as last year we will have multiple uniform try on dates in February for your player to try on the new uniform and make changes to sizes as needed. Travel Player try on dates are February 5th and 7th, if you cannot make those dates the 8th will be open for all association members. These have been added to your SportsEngine calendar. We ask that you do your best to make the travel dates and not wait for the open date just to prevent any confusion and incorrect ordering.

 

 

Travel Player Parent Meeting

As in previous seasons we will host a player and parent meeting. This will provide specifics on the upcoming season, contacts for assistance, turn in your volunteer check, as well as other key information.  

 

 

Travel League Information

For the most up to date information use the travel page listed here. This page will list tournament information, field information, indoor practice schedules, and various other key information for your season. This page will also have links to your individual travel team page where we encourage our coaches to keep up to date with Team specific information and dates throughout the season.

 

 

Communications

We will again be using SportsEngine for communications from the association. By using SE we can target specific teams with information that is relevant to them. This helps us cut down on emails and gets you the information you need to know quickly. It also provides a chat area for parents and coaches as well as a calendar. If you have not already please download the app to your phone. In addition, we will use Facebook and Instagram for pictures, reminders, last minute information, rain outs, etc. Please follow us on those platforms so you don’t miss any information.

Wood Bat Classic/STMA Tournament: June 14 – 16, Various STMA fields. 12AA, 13AA, and 14AA divisions
