League

Rookie league is a non-competitive “T-Ball” league focused on the basic baseball/softball fundamentals.  Rookie League is for boys and girls ages 4 & 5 years old.

Location:

All games/practices will be held at Albertville Primary.  If needed, we will use surrounding community parks to accommodate all teams.

Teams

There are no player evaluations at this level.  Teams will be randomly selected by the In House Vice President.  Teams will be made up of 6 to 10 players per team. There will be NO “buddy” requests, apart from siblings who will be playing in the same league.

Equipment

STMA Youth Baseball will provide a Hat, Jersey and Bats.  Players are to provide their own Helmet, Glove and Cleats.  However, cleats are not required at this level.

Practice/Game Nights

Rookies will meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 6:00/6:30 pm.   Allow 1 hour 15 min for practices, and 3-4 innings for games.  Parents are strongly encouraged to stay at the field during T-Ball activities.

Season Length

Rookie League is a 6 week, 12 day scheduled league.  Weather permitting:  League will tentatively start the first week in May.

Jamboree

There is NO end of the year Jamboree at this level.

Coaches

We ALWAYS need coaches!!  Please contact your league coordinator if you are interested in coaching, or would like more information.

Weather/Rain outs

In the event of rain, the league or coach will send out a cancellation notice VIA Sports Engine Chat.  The first two rain outs will not be made up….any rain outs after that will be rescheduled.  We try to wrap the season up before the 4th of July, but have the option to extend the season if needed due to weather.
